Love of the Dunya, and hatred of death

Rasoolullah SAW said,’ There will come a time when the nations will gather against you, just as people gather around a feast.’
A man said, ‘Will it be because we will be few at that time, Oh Messenger of Allah?’. He responded, ‘No, you will be numerous in those times, but you will be like the scum of the sea, and Allah will remove your fear from the hearts of your enemies, and He will place al-Wahn in your hearts’, It was asked, ‘What is al-Wahn?’, he responded, “Love of the Dunya, and hatred of death”

The Corporate Monasticism : The New Monks of our Age

A desperate father complained to me about his son’s extra curiculler activities.  He said: My son prays five timesand has no bad habits that can worry me. But he returns home late and does not get involved in domestic responsibilities. He is in college but rarely studies . At home he is occupied on Internet chatting with unknown friends…Then the father exclaimed : He is a monk of a different type. A corporate monk.

This type of complain may be burning in the hearts of many fathers and wives of today. Grown up men remainobsessed with internet news papers, watching serial and sports. They are away from family affairs. They dont find even talking to the family as interesting as the world affairs they chase.

A Muslim is suppose to be actively participating in multiple things. He is a father, a husband  and a son at home. He is helping his neighbor  He visits relatives instead of just messaging them ” May Allah give you a quick recovery ” He is with his children in their school. He is with his mother talking to her. Alon with this, he finds time for dawah, deen and duniya. You will find him in  the front rows in masjid and also a very good businessman. He earns money and also he spends money. He gets up for tahajjud and also goes to along with his family for an outing.

A corporate monk will not stay in a monastery far away from the society, but he is there right in the middle of the busy city. He goes home and stays there but like a paying guest who just givs the rent of his staying and remains away from the houshold activities. He is a piece of furniture at home, not responding to any need or call of domestic help. The ancient monks kept away from wealth, but the corporate monks chase careers and wealthHe is spending most of his time in either travelling or gossiping with friends or entertainment. Reports say that an average person staying in a metro city, spends only a half hour with his family. Some dont even get time to talk to their family. When they leave their homes, their kids are sleeping. When they return their kids have gone to sleep.

When Islam permits a man to marry four women it means it also expects this man to run four families. It also expects this man to give time and attention towards all the four families.  It means that a man lives in society and finds time for society. Being busy does not always means  ” I dont have time ” but it can also mean ” I will not give priority to this person, or work or responsiblity…..

When Islam does not allow monasticism  SEE THE DEFINITION OF MONASTICISM (Monasticism (from Greek μοναχός, monachos, derived from μόνος, monos, “alone”) or monkhood is a religious way of life that involves renouncing worldly pursuits to fully devote one’s self to spiritual work.),ISLAM  encourages its followers to be active insocial life. Recall the famous Hadith ” The best among you are the one who are best to their families.”

few more HADITHS:

The Prophet Muhammad (Sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has said:

1. “The best of the Muslims is he from whose hand and tongue the Muslims are safe.” [Muslim]

2. “The best of people are those with the most excellent character.” [Tabarâni, Sahîh]

3. “The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind.” [Dâraqutni, Hasan]

4. “The best of people are those who are best in fulfilling [rights].” [Ibn Mâjah, Sahîh]

5.  “The best of you are those who are best to their families, and I am the best of you to my family.” [Tirmidhî, Sahîh]

Egypt massacre must see documentaries + A letter of a father to his martyred daughter.+ always be concerned for the muslims affairs, regardless of geography or language

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم described the Ummah as one body; if one member becomes sick then the other members of this one body will take care of the sick one:
“The Believers, in their mutual love, mercy and compassion, are like one body: if one organ complained, the rest of the body develops a fever.” [Bukhari & Muslim]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Although helping our brothers and sisters may not be physically possible in all circumstances, it is imperative to always care and be concerned for their affairs, regardless of geography or language, and do whatever is possible within the circumstances. It is imperative to care, or even train ourselves to care for Muslims in nearby or remote parts of the world by reminding ourselves that our bond with all Muslims is that of brothers and sisters

Dr. AlBaltagy ka beti k naam khat, kaiyon ko azam kaiyon ko rula dia

A heart breaking letter of a father to his martyred daughter.

English Version of Letter:

My beloved daughter and dignified teacher Asma al-Beltaji; I do not say goodbye to you; I say tomorrow we shall meet again.
You have lived with your head held high, rebellious against tyranny and shackles and loving freedom. You have lived as a silent seeker of new horizons to rebuild this nation to assume its place among civilizations.
You never occupied yourself with what preoccupies those of your age. Even though traditional studies failed to fulfil your aspirations and interest; you have always been the first in your class.
I have not had enough of your precious company in this short life, especially that my time did not allow me to enjoy your companionship. The last time we sat together at Rabaa Al Adawiya square you asked me “even when you are with us you are busy” and I told you “it seems that this life will not be enough to enjoy each other’s company so I pray to God that we enjoy our companionship in paradise.”
Two nights before you were murdered I saw you in my dream in a white wedding dress and you were an icon of beauty. When you lay next to me I asked you “Is it your wedding night?” You answered, “It is in the noon not the evening”. When they told me you were murdered on Wednesday afternoon I understood what you meant and I knew God had accepted your soul as a martyr. You strengthened my belief that we are on the truth and our enemy is on falsehood.
It caused me severe pain not to be at your last farewell and see you for the last time; not to kiss your forehead; and not be honoured to lead your funeral prayer. I swear to God, my darling I was not afraid for my life or from an unjust prison, but I wanted to carry the message you scarified your soul for; to complete the revolution, to win and achieve its objectives.
Your soul has been elevated with your head held high resisting the tyrants. The treacherous bullets have hit you in the chest. What spectacularly determined and pure soul. I am confident that you were honest to God and He has chosen you among us to honour you with sacrifice.
Finally, my beloved daughter and dignified teacher:
I do not say goodbye, but I say farewell. We shall meet soon with our beloved Prophet and his companions in Heaven where our wish to enjoy each other’s company and our loved ones’ company will come true.
meanwhile In the news :
In the light of above hadith i would like you to see and think about the afairs of the muslims across the world
can  you dare to  see the massacre  of our Muslim brothers and sisters in   Egypt ?

Guarding the modesty..

Famous Moghul  Aurangzeb’s young daughter fell sick and it was severe. The Royal Hakeem was called for and he asked the princess to show her palms so that he can examine the pulse beats. The young girl refused. She was too modest and shy to show her palm to a Non Mahram. One of my friend’s daughter is only 7 but whenever the door bell rings, she rushes to her bedroom and comes out with a scarf. Whenever Moulana Abul Kalam Azad’s wife was alone she never picked up the phone no matter how long it rang. She avoided to talk to Non Mahram. Islamic directory is full of the names of such women who have carried the banner of modesty through out their lives.

But on the other hand we have immodesty creeping in our lives un resisted. Our moral walls are proving to be too weak to halt the invasion of obscenity. Many of us don’t even realize the presence of obscenity around them .  Let me explain you with an example. If you happen to visit a fish market you will get irritated by its smell. But if you continue staying there then your nose will have no problem. The reason? Your nose get habituated with the smell so it wont pinch you. In the same manner if some one visits an obscene channel or watches dirty movie for the first time he will feel ashamed and upset. It is human to feel the shame. But once he is regular, his moral is like that nose which has adjusted with the smell of fish. He doesn’t feel irritated nor upset upon watching love scenes in  movies, TV serials, comedy, songs , fashion shows along with the whole family  in front of a plasma TV.  The reason is simple.  He is habituated with immodesty. Those who feel bad  they just give  an excuse of being helpless.

Salman Farsi r.a. said : It is a big act of immodesty to peep into some one’s bedroom to enjoy someone’s private moments with his spouse. What Salman Farsi said 1400 years ago holds true even today. That reminds me a thought provoking hadith that can be fitted into today’s’ time . A man said to the Messenger of Allah : There is a hold in your wall and I peeped through it to see my beloved Prophet. The Prophet (pbuh) got disturbed. He replied: Had I knew that you were peeping in my house I would have hit your eyes with a sharp object. ..

~~See the reference to the hadith

Sahih Bukhari Volume 008, Book 074, Hadith Number 258.

Sahih Bukhari Book 74. Asking Permission
Narated By Sahl bin Sa’d : A man peeped through a round hole into the dwelling place of the Prophet, while the Prophet had a Midray (an iron comb) with which he was scratching his head. the Prophet said, ” Had known you were looking (through the hole), I would have pierced your eye with it (i.e., the comb).” Verily! The order of taking permission to enter has been enjoined because of that sight, (that one should not look unlawfully at the state of others). (See Hadith No. 807, Vol. 7)

But today people peep in the bedrooms of others. They entertain themselves when two Non Mahram make love before the cameras and audience. Other people’s bedroom acts are now open for public. They are cheered as Super Stars.  No movie can catch audience if there are no love scenes. No song can be hit unless it has a love scene.Love scenes are getting more vulgar but they are  welcomed and served as  BOLD SCENES.VULGARITY  is renamed as BOLD .It is a cut throat competition in the world of vulgarity.

Another sahih hadith says : A dayyus will not even smell the fragrance of  Paradise, whereas the fragrance of paradise is smelt from a distance of 500years travel ! Dayyus? A person who acts as an agent for his women ( wife, daughter, sister ) to do vulgarity… In today’s context the term ‘Dayyus” can be broadened in its meaning. It can include those fathers  and brothers and husbands who buy TV sets in their homes and make facilities for their wives, daugthers and sisters to peep in the bedroom of other people, while sitting in the company of family. It can include those grooms who stand before the visitors in their own wedding reception introducing their wives to all the Non Mahram guests turn by turn.

Every body knows the famous hadith : al haya minal Emaan. Haya is from Emaan…. So if Haya departs even the  faith is in danger.. it may follow faith while we remain Abdullahs, and Maryams  in the list of Governments thinking ourselves to be a candidate of Paradise.

People who are ignorant of the teachings of the Prophet (saws) do not concern themselves with Haya and Honour. Haya and Iman are interdependent; therefore either they both exist together or they both perish

Abdullah ibn Umar (ra) narrated that the Prophet (saw) said: “Indeed haya (modesty) and Iman are Companions. When one of them is lifted, the other leaves as well.” (Baihaqi)

The Prophet (saws) said: “Haya and Trustworthiness will be the first to go from this world; therefore keep asking Allah for them.” (Baihaqi)

In conclusion we must understand that Haya is important for both men and women. Men are to control themselves by getting married as young as possible or if they cannot afford that, they should fast. Women are told to conceal themselves so that the men will not be over taken by the whispers of Sheytan and will not disrespect or take advantage of the women. There are many verses in the Qur’an that have clearly explained how we have to behave and Allah is All-Knowing therefore He knew that we would face these problems living in this society, and that is no excuse to change Islam and only practice what we feel is right. Allah (swt) has told men how to guide their modesty and has told women how to guide their modesty. If either one of them refuse to follow the commandment of their Lord, may Allah have mercy on them and may He guide them to the straight path.

“Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modestythat they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty…….” (Qur’an Nur, 30-31)

ALL PRAISE BE TO ALLAH, AND MAY HIS PEACE AND BLESSINGS BE UPON MUHAMMAD (SAW), HIS FAMILY, HIS COMPANIONS AND HIS TRUE FOLLOWERS UNTIL THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.

When sins are performed in congregations it is the time for the punishment of Allah to descend.

Do you know that the concept of NATIONALISM IS A CURSE ? ?

Nationalism was popularized by Napoleon. It was the idea that you should die for your country, not your king. The truth was, now instead of being used by kings, it was now by rich people to trick the same subjects, poorer people into fighting. For example, when a nation says it’s in their national interests to fight a war, whose interest is it really in? The average American didn’t get any benefit by going to war in Iraq, they didn’t get the no-bid reconstruction contracts. Haliburton, a company once run by the Vice President got these contracts, and became rich. Other companies that make weapons got a lot of money too. Meanwhile poor people died, both American soldiers and Iraqis.

Conspiracies of Britishers broke Khalfat e Usmania (The great Otomon Empire ) into divided muslim nation states that was the worst bidah world of islam every see.Turkey and Saudi Arabia played major role in dividing muslim ummah( so called fighter of bidah gave world of islam worst bidah) and from that day to day muslims are enemies of each other and friends and allies of jews and christians ( in the name of so called friendship they are exploiting resources of muslims)

Because of this worst of racism and disease Nationalism.Saudies are Saudies, pakistani are pakistanies indians r indians rather than Muslims.Muslim brotherhood concept has been disappeared now Pakistan help USA in killing of afganies because they are afgani and pakistanies are pakistani.Islam is the least bothered or ignorable thing. And now today Ummah doesn’t exsist in reality…Pakistanies r only fighting for their Flag and afganies for their flag.. No one is fighting for Islam..

For gaining the Asbiyaat of state you have to give up the asbiyat of religion.

What is needed?

Muslim should be a patriotic Muslim and nationalist Muslim of his Nation Ummah…nation of Islam…which has no boundaries and limits only one condition which is Kalima..

O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another
Quran 49:13

Pakistani Bengali or hindustani can b only used to know each other not for fighting or for pride…

A muslim only fight for Islam

Some one asked Nabi(s.a.w) :
Abu Musa relates:
What does war in the cause of Allah(JIHAD FI SABILILLAH)imply? One man may fight for material gain; another may fight in order to gain a reputation for valour; a third may fight for vengeance,or for national honour. Which of these men is a fighter in the way of Allah? The Prophet (SAAS) said: None of them. Only he fights in the way of Allah who seeks no other purpose than the glorification of Allah. (who fight for islam)

Those who believe fight in the cause of God, and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of rebellion. Then fight the allies of Satan; indeed, Satan’s strategy is weak
Quran 3:78

The believers are but brothers
Quran 49 10

Prohibition Of Nationalism

Nationalism is prohibited in Islam…

Nabi(s.a.w) said
He is not one us who calls for `Asabiyyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who fights for `Asabiyyah or who dies for `Asabiyyah
Abu Dawud

And in another Hadith,
The Messenger of Allah (saaw) referring to Nationalism, racism, and patriotism said: “Leave it, it is rotten.”
Bukhari and Muslim

and said in last sermon
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action.

Nabi(s.a.w) said,
Undoubtedly Allah has removed from you the pride of arrogance of the age of Jahilliyah (ignorance) and the glorification of ancestors. Now people are of two kinds. Either believers who are aware or transgressors who do wrong. You are all the children of Adam and Adam was made of clay. People should give up their pride in nations because that is a coal from the coals of Hell-fire. If they do not give this up Allah (swt) will consider them lower than the lowly worm which pushes itself through Khara (dung).”

Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi

Islamic concept of nationalism has been beautifully explained by Iqbal as islam believes in muslim brotherhood and in nation of islam not in nation state
Dour Mein Mai Aur Hai, Jaam Aur Hai Jam Aur
Saqi Ne Bina Ki Rawish-e-Lutf-o-Sitam Aur
In this age the wine, the cup, even Jam is different
The cup
bearer started different ways of grace and tyranny

Muslim Ne Bhi Tameer Kiya Apna Haram Aur
Tehzeeb Ke Azar Ne Tarshawaye Sanam Aur

The Muslim also constructed a different harem of his own
The Azar of civilization made different idols of his own

In Taza Khudaon Mein Bara Sub Se Watan Hai
Jo Pairhan Iss Ka Hai, Woh Mazhab Ka Kafan Hai

Country, is the biggest among these new gods!

What is its shirt is the shroud of Deen (Religion)

Ye But Ke Tarashida-e-Tehzeeb-e-Nawi Hai
Gharatgar-e-Kashana-e-Deen-e-Nabwi Hai

This idol which is the product of the new civilization
Is the plunderer of the structure of the Holy Prophet’s Deen (Religion)

Bazu Tera Touheed Ki Quwwat Se Qawi Hai
Islam Tera Dais Hai, Tu Mustafavi Hai

Your arm is enforced with the strength of the Divine Unity
You are the followers of Mustafa, your country is Islam

Nazzara-e-Dairina Zamane Ko Dikha De
Ae Mustafavi Khak Mein Iss Butt Ko Mila De!

You should show the old panorama to the world
O Mustafaa’s follower! You should destroy this idol

Ho Qaid-e-Maqami To Nateeja Hai Tabahi
Reh Behar Mein Azad-e-Watan Soorat-e-Mahi

The limitation to country results in destruction
Live like the fish in the ocean free from country

De Tu Bhi Nabuwwat Ki Sadaqat Pe Gawahi

Renouncing the country is the way of the God’s Beloved (PBUH)
You should also testify to the Prophethood’s Truth by similar action

Guftar-e-Siasat Mein Watan Aur Hi Kuch Hai
Irshad-e-Nabuwwat Mein Watan Aur Hi Kuch Hai

In political parlance country is something different
In Prophet’s command country is something different

Aqwam-e-Jahan Mein Hai Raqabat To Issi Se
Taskheer Hai Maqsood-e-Tajarat To Issi Se

The antagonism among world’s nations is created by this alone
Subjugation as the goal of commerce is created by this alone

Khali Hai Sadaqat Se Siasat To Issi Se
Kamzor Ka Ghar Hota Hai Gharat To Issi Se

Politics have become bereft of sincerity is by this alone
The destruction of the home of the weak is by this alone

Aqwam Mein Makhlooq-e-Khuda Batti Hai Iss Se
Qoumiat-e-Islam Ki Jar Katti Hai Iss Se

God’s creation is unjustly divided among nations by it
The Islamic concept of nationality is uprooted by it

Pakistan first is the Slogans of Jahileen who worship their state and country.Knowingly or unknowingly they are worshiping country and Namaz(prayer) for this idol is playing national anthom music and all people stand bowing down their heads and if some one won’t stand he/she will be considered as jahil and believers of nation will curse him

Cheen o arab hamara hindustan hamara
Muslim hain hum watan ha sara jahan hamara

and at last

Remaining Steadfast After Ramadaan

http://justquraan.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/ctizeal1.jpg

Shaykh Saleh al-Fouzan

https://i0.wp.com/img294.imageshack.us/img294/6653/z4c880b7a79b6d.gif

Sufyaan ibn `Abdillaah radhiallahu `anhu said:

“O Messenger of Allah,
tell me something about Islaam,
which I cannot ask anyone else besides you.”
He (Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam) said:

“Say: ‘I believe in Allah’ and then
be steadfast (upon that).”

[Saheeh Muslim (38)]

The hadeeth is proof that the servant is obligated, after having eemaan in Allah, to persevere and be steadfast upon obeying Him by performing the obligatory acts and avoiding the prohibited ones. This is achieved by following the Straight Path, which is the firm Religion without drifting away from it, to the right or to the left.

If the Muslim lives through Ramadaan
and spent his days in fasting
and his nights in prayer
and he accustomed himself
to doing acts of good,
then he must continue to remain
upon this obedience to Allah
at all times.

This is the true state of the slave, for indeed, the Lord of the months is One and He is ever watchful and witnessing over his servants at all times.

Indeed, steadfastness after Ramadaan and the rectification of one’s statements and actions are the greatest signs that one has gained benefit from the month of Ramadaan and striven in obedience. They are tokens of reception and signs of success.

Furthermore, the deeds of a servant do not come to an end with the end of a month and the beginning of another, rather they continue and extend until he reaches death.

Allah says:

 “And worship your Lord
until the certainty (death) comes to you.”

[al-Hijr: 99]

If the fasting of Ramadaan comes to an end, then indeed the voluntary fasting is still prescribed throughout the entire year. If standing in prayer at night during Ramadaan comes to an end, then indeed, the entire year is a time for performing the night prayer. And if the Zakaat-ul-Fitr comes to an end, then there is still the Zakaah that is obligatory as well as the voluntary charity that lasts the whole year. This goes the same for reciting the Qur’aan and pondering over its meaning as well as every other righteous deed that is sought, for they can be done at all times.

From the many bounties that Allah has bestowed upon his servants is that He has placed for them many different types of righteous acts and provided many means for doing good deeds. Therefore, the ardor and zeal of the Muslim must be constant and he must continue to remain in the service of his Lord.

It is unfortunate to find that some people perform worship
by doing different types of righteous deeds
during Ramadaan.
They guard strictly upon their five daily prayers in the masjid,
they recite the Qur’aan a lot
and they give in charity from their wealth.
But when Ramadaan comes to an end,
they grow lazy in their worship.
Rather, sometimes they even abandon the obligations,
both generally, such as praying in congregation,
and specifically, such as praying the fajr prayer.

And they commit forbidden acts
such as sleeping over the time of prayers,
indulging in places of foolishness and entertainment,
and mingling in parks, especially on the day of `Eid.
Obtaining help from these evils is only
through the grace of Allah.
Thus, they demolish what they have constructed
and destroy what they have established.
This is an indication of deprivation and a sign of perdition.

We ask Allah for His safeguarding and protection.

(Aameen)

Indeed, this type of people
take the example of turning in repentance
and ceasing from committing evil deeds
as something specific and restricted
to the month of Ramadaan.
And they stop doing these (good) acts
when the month stops.
Thus, it is as if they have abandoned sinning
for the sake of Ramadaan, and not out of fear of Allah.
How evil are these people who do not know Allah,
except in Ramadaan!

Truly, the success that Allah grants His servant lies in the fasting of Ramadaan. His assisting him to do that is a great favor, thus the calls for the servant to be grateful to his Lord.

This understanding can be found in the statement of Allah after completing the favor of the month of fasting:

“(He wants that you) must complete
the same number of days,
and that you must magnify Allah
(by saying Allahu Akbar)
for having guided you,
so that you may be grateful to Him.”
[2:185]

The one who is grateful for having fasted, will remain upon that condition and continue to perform righteous deeds.

Verily, the true way of the Muslim is that of one who praises and thanks his Lord for giving him the ability to fast and make qiyaam. His condition after Ramadaan is better than it was before Ramadaan. He is more receptive to obey, desiring to do good deeds and quick to enforce the obligatory acts. This is because he has gained benefit form this prominent institute of learning. It is that of one who fears for having his fast not accepted, for indeed Allah only accepts from those who fear Him.

The righteous predecessors would struggle to complete and perfect their deeds, hoping afterwards, that it would be accepted and fearing that it would be rejected.

From the reports of `Alee (radhiallahu `anhu),

“Be more concerned with
having your deeds accepted
than the deed itself.
Did you not hear Allah say:

 ‘Verily Allah, only accepts those
from those who fear Him.
(i.e. possess taqwaa).’

[5:27]
“[Lataa’if ul Ma`aarif, p. 246]

`Aa’ishah (radhiallahu `anhu) said:

“I asked the Messenger of Allah
concerning the ayah:

‘And the one who are given
what they are given
and their hearts tremble with fear.’

Are they the ones who drink alcohol and steal?”

He (Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam) said:

“No, o daughter of as-Siddeeq.
Rather, they are the ones
who fast and pray and give in charity
yet fear that it won’t be accepted from them.
They are the ones who rush to do good deeds
and they are the first to do them.”

[Saheeh Sunan at-Tirmidhee 3/79-80]

So be warned and again be warned
of turning backward
after having attained guidance
of going astray after persevering.
And ask Allah to provide you with duration
in doing righteous deeds
and continuity in performing good acts.
And ask Allah that He grant you a good end,
so that He may accept our Ramadaan from us.

QUE 5. IF SOMEONE FASTS SIX DAYS OF SHAWWAL EVERY YEAR, THEN ONE YEAR HE GETS SICK OR BECOMES TOO LAZY TO FAST OR SOMETHING PREVENTS HIM FROM FASTING, IS THAT A SIN? I’VE HEARD THAT IF A PERSON FASTS THESE SIX DAYS ONE YEAR, HE MUST NEVER GIVE UP THIS PRACTICE THEREAFTER?

 @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Que 1.  What is the ruling on fasting six days of shawwal? Is it wajib (obligatory)?

Shawwal is the Islamic month (10th month) that is immediately after Ramadhan, the first day being ‘Eid al-Fitr.

 Praise be to Allah.

Fasting six days of Shawwal after the obligatory fast of Ramadhan is Sunnah Mustahabbah, not wajib. It is recommended for the Muslim to fast six days of Shawwal, and in this there is great virtue and an immense reward. Whoever fasts these six days will have recorded for him a reward as if he had fasted a whole year, as was reported in a sahih hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Whoever fasts Ramadhan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime.” [Narrated by Muslim, Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nisa’i and Ibn Majah]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explained this when he said: “Whoever fasts for six days after (‘Eid) al-Fitr has completed the year: (whoever does a good deed (hasanah) will have ten hasanah like it).” According to another report: “Allah has made for each hasanah ten like it, so a month is like fasting ten months, and fasting six days completes the year.” [An-Nisa’i and Ibn Majah. See alsoSahih at-Targhib wa’t-Tarhib, 1/421). It was also narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah with the wording: “Fasting for the month of Ramadhan brings the reward of ten like it, and fasting for six days brings the reward of two months, and that is the fasting of the whole year.”

The Hanbali and Shafi’i fuqaha’ explained that fasting six days of Shawwal after fasting Ramadhan makes it as if one has fasted for an entire year of obligatory fasts, because the multiplication of the reward applies even to nafil fasts, because each hasanah brings the reward of ten like it.

Another of the important benefits of fasting six days of Shawwal is that is makes up for any shortfall in a person’s obligatory Ramadhan fasts, because no one is free of shortcomings or sins that have a negative effect on his fasting. On the Day of Resurrection, some of his nafil deeds will be taken to make up the shortcomings in his obligatory deeds, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“The first thing for which people will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be their salah (prayer). Our Lord, may He be glorified and exalted, will say to His angels – although He knows best – ‘Look at the salah of My slave, whether it is complete or incomplete.’ If it is perfect, it will be recorded as perfect, and if something is lacking, He will say, ‘Look and see whether My slave did any voluntary (nafil) prayers.’ If he did some voluntary prayers, [Allah] will say, Complete the obligatory actions of My slave from his voluntary actions.’ Then all his actions will be dealt with in a similar manner.” [Narrated by Abu Dawud]

And Allah knows best.

Que 2 when should a muslim start fasting six days of shawwal? When can i start fasting six days of shawwal, since we have annual leave right now?

Praise be to Allah.

You can start fasting six days of Shawwal from the second day of Shawwal, because it is haram to fast on the day of ‘Eid. You can fast the six days at any time during Shawwal, although the best of good deeds are those which are done soonest.

The standing committee received the following question:

Should fasting the six days be done immediately after Ramadhan, following the day of ‘Eid or is it permissible to do it a few days after ‘Eidin the month of Shawwal or not?

They replied as follows:

These days do not have to be fasted immediately after ‘Eid al-Fitr; it is permissible to start fasting them one or more days after ‘Eid, and they may be done consecutively or separately during the month of Shawwal, according to what is easier for a person. There is plenty of room for maneuver in this matter, and this is not obligatory, it is Sunnah.

And Allah is the Source of strength. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions and grant them peace.

Que 3. Do the six days of shawwal have to be fasted consecutively?

With regard to the six days of Shawwal after Ramadhan, is it a condition that they should be fasted consecutively, or can I separate them? I want to fast them in three sessions, on the two days of the weekend.

Praise be to Allah.

It is not a necessary condition that they should be fasted consecutively. If you fast them separately or consecutively, it is OK. The sooner you do them, the better, because Allah says (interpretation of the meanings):

“So compete in good deeds.” [Al-Qur’an 5:48]

“And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord.” [Al-Qur’an 3:133]

“[Musa – peace be upon him – said:] … and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased.” [Al-Qur’an 20:84]

And (you should hasten to fast these six days) because delaying may cause problems. This is the view of the Shafi’is and some of the Hanbalis, but it is OK if you do not hasten it and you delay it until the middle or end of the month.

An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Our companions said: it is mustahabb to fast six days of Shawwal. Because of this hadiththey said: it is mustahabb to fast these days consecutively at the beginning of Shawwal, but if one separates them or delays them until afterShawwal, this is permissible, because he will still be following the general guidelines of the hadith. We have no dispute regarding this matter, and this was also the view of Ahmad and Dawud.” [Al-Majmu’ Sharh al-Muhadhdhab]

[Question Reference #7858, posted on 11.01.2000]

Que 4.  Can a person start fasting six days of shawwal when he still has days to make up from ramadhan?

If a person fasts six days of Shawwal after Ramadhan when he has not yet completed the Ramadhan fast – because he did not fast ten days of Ramadhan for a legitimate reason – will he have the same reward as a person who fasted all of Ramadhan and followed it with six days of Shawwal, i.e. will he be like a person who fasted for a lifetime? Please explain to us, may Allah reward you with good.

Praise be to Allah.

The precise rewards for the deeds which people do for the sake of Allah is something which is known only to Allah. If a person seeks the reward from Allah and strives to obey Him, his reward will not be lost, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“We shall not make the reward of anyone who does his (righteous) deeds in the most perfect manner to be lost.” [Al-Qur’an18:30]

If someone has missed some of the days of Ramadhan, he should fast them first, then fast six days of Shawwal, because he cannot follow the fast of Ramadhan with six days of Shawwal unless he has completed his Ramadhan fast.

And Allah is the source of strength. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions, and grant them peace.

Que 5. If someone fasts six days of shawwal every year, then one year he gets sick or becomes too lazy to fast or something prevents him from fasting, is that a sin? I’ve heard that if a person fasts these six days one year, he must never give up this practice thereafter?

If someone fasts six days of Shawwal, then one year he gets sick or something prevents him from fasting, or he is too lazy to fast, will there be any sin on him? We have heard that if a person fasts these six days one year, he must never give up this practice thereafter.

Praise be to Allah.

Fasting six days of Shawwal after the day of ‘Eid is Sunnah. It is not wajib (obligatory) on the person who does this once or more often to continue doing it. He is not guilty of a sin if he does not fast these days.

And Allah is the Source of strength. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad and grant him peace.

10 tips to have a Productive Eid!

Assalamoalikum
I would like to  share one of the best article that I found worth to share .

We didn’t want to leave you hanging after Ramadan with no productivity tips, so here are 10 tips to have a Productive Eid!

1. TAKBIR!
Keep reciting the Eid Takbir as much as you can wherever you go from the Maghreb of the last day of Ramadan till the Eid Prayer! Recite the takbir in the car, in the shopping malls, at home! Revive this Sunnah and truly feel the greatness of Islam.
2. Prepare your Eid outfits early!
May be too late now, but I hope you bought all your Eid clothes BEFORE Ramadan started! If not, don’t panic. Try to find something reasonable in your wardrobe and don’t stress yourself with late night shopping on the night before Eid.
If you’ve bought your Eid clothes early, then prepare it the night before and place everything you need in one place. (Last thing you need is the early morning rush before Eid prayer and forgetting where you’ve put your new shoes!)
3. Follow the Sunnah before the Eid Prayer
The following acts are prescribed as Sunnah at the beginning of the day of ‘Eid-ul-Fitr before proceeding to the Eid prayer:
Take a bath.
Put on your best available clothes.
Wear perfume (for the men).
Eat a sweet food, preferably dates, before the Eid prayer.
Recite the following Takbir while going to the ‘Eid prayer:
Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La Ilaha Ila Allah Wa Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Wa Lillahi Alhamd (Eid Takbir).
4. Increase your supplications
On this blessed day, ensure you make dua that Allah accepts all your good deeds and grants you another Ramadan. Thank Allah (glorified and exalted be He) for blessing us with good food, clothes, families/friends, and safety. Also don’t forget the Ummah in your prayers; pray for Palestine, for the victims of natural disaster anywhere, and all those suffering in our Ummah.
5. Take a different route to/from the mosque
In a narration the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) used to take a different route on his way back from the Eid prayer. Changing lanes gives you the chance to spread the greetings of Salam to different people. There’s also a subtle meaning here when you come back with a different route; you’re coming back home after Eid a changed and better person inshaAllah.
6. Take a day off!
Yes, I am talking to the workaholics here. Eid is Eid, take a day off, you won’t get fired! (I hope :P). Best advice is to book your day off in advance. Explain to your employers that Eid is as important to you as Christmas (or any other festival they like) is to them. However, we don’t want to be accused of being unproductive nor all the Muslim staff going AWOL; so ask early, and the employer can arrange staff replacement or reduce your hours on the day inshaAllah.
7. Visit friends/neigbours/relatives
This is a great part of Eid. But first a few forgotten etiquettes:
Call before you visit (you don’t want to visit and find them all sleeping!)
Take a Gift (no matter how small) especially for the children.
Invite them to yours as well. (They’ve played host, now it’s your turn!)
For those who have made amends and established broken family relations during Ramadan, Eid is your opportunity to strengthen these new ties inshaAllah, so don’t miss out!
Also, for relatives living far, make sure you prepare a call list and call them one by one with Skype or international phone cards; they’d really appreciate your call.
8. Eat moderately
This is a big one to look after. We almost ruin our diets in the space of one day with Eid food. I know it’s hard, but try to limit the amount of food you have and stick to regular meals on the day. To help you, think ahead and the pains you’ll have by over-indulging during Eid day. You don’t want an Eid with a stomach ache now do you?
9. Stick to the good deeds
This is super important, and it’ll make sure that you continue with your good deeds after Ramadan inshaAllah. Make sure you stick to the good deeds after Eid from day 1; so Salah on time, Hijab on (if you’re new to Hijab), reading few pages of Quran, etc. You want to build these good deeds into your daily habits and get them to be part of your ‘new you’ from day one. If you let go on Eid day, it’ll be harder to pick them up again on the 2nd or 3rd day of Eid.
10. Exchange Gifts/Make Cards
Exchange gifts amongst family/friends and relatives; this can be small perfumes to beneficial household items.
Hope you like the above! Have a happy and productive Eid!
Eid Mubarak to you and your family in advance.
As always I am in need of your precious Duas , prayers . So please do remember me in your dua.

I hope you like below article too.

Are we truly among those who have benefited from this blessed month Ramadan?

We  leave the blessed month of Ramadan, its beautiful days and its fragrant nights. We leave the month of the Qur’an, taqwa, patience, mercy, forgiveness and freedom from hellfire… Have we fulfilled the requirements of taqwa and graduated from the Ramadan school with the diploma of the god-fearing? Have we fought our souls and desires and defeated them, or have we been overtaken by our customs and blind imitations? Have we performed our actions in a way that fulfills the conditions for receiving mercy, forgiveness and release from the Fire? Many questions and numerous thoughts come to the heart of the sincere Muslim, who asks and answers with truthfulness. What Have We Gained From Ramadan? Ramadan is a school of iman and a ‘stop to recharge one’s spiritual batteries’ – to acquire one’s provision for the rest of the year… For when will one take a lesson and change for better if not in the month of Ramadan? The noble month is a true school of transformation in which we change our actions, habits and manners that are in variance with the Law of Allah ‘azza wa jall. “Verily, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” [Ar-Ra`d, 11] If you are from those who benefited from Ramadan, fulfilled the requirements of taqwa, truly fasted the month, prayed in it with truthfulness, and strove against you soul, then praise and thank Allah, and ask Him for steadfastness upon it until you meet your death. Be not like one who has sewn a shirt and then destroyed it… Have you seen one who sewed a shirt or thawb, so when she looked at it, she liked it. Then she destroyed it pulling a thread by thread for no reason. What would people say about such a person?! Or have you seen one who earns a fortune trading throughout the day, then when the night comes, he throws away all that he earned, dirham by dirham. What would people say about such a person?! This is the condition of one who returns to sinning and evil doing after Ramadan and leaves obedience and righteous actions. So after he was favored with the blessing of obedience and enjoyment of communicating with Allah he returned to the blaze of sins and evil actions. How evil are the people who know Allah only in Ramadan! My dear ones, falling short in one’s commitment to Islam after Ramadan is manifested in many ways, including: 1 – Men leaving the five prayers in congregation, after they filled mosques for Taraweeh prayers, thus going to the masjid for recommended prayers and leaving obligatory ones. 2 – Return to musical entertainment, forbidden films, women displaying their adornment beyond that which ordinarily appears thereof, free mixing etc. This is not thankfulness for blessings and favors, nor is it the sign of acceptance of one’s actions, rather this is opposition to favors and absence of thankfulness. These are from signs of one’s deeds not being accepted – and Allah’s refuge is sought – for one who truly fasts rejoices on the occasion of `eid, praises his Lord for helping him complete the fast, and remains fearful that Allah may not accept his fasting, just as the Salaf would continue asking for acceptance of their actions in Ramadan for six months after it. From signs that one’s deeds are accepted is that he or she has improved in his or her obedience to Allah `azza wa jall. “And remember when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]…” [ Quran  Surah  Ibrahim, 7] Increase you in good, faith and righteous actions. So if the servant is truly thankful to his Lord, you will see him guided to more obedience and distanced from sinfulness. Thankfulness is leaving sins, as the early Muslims said. “And worship your Lord until there comes you to the certainty [i.e. death].” [ Quran  Surah al-Hijr, 99] The Muslim must continuously be in the state of obedience of Allah, firm upon His Sharee`ah, steadfast upon His Deen, so that he or she is not of those who worship Allah only during one month or only in one place. Rather, the believer knows that the Lord of Ramadan is also the Lord of other months, and that He is the Lord of all times and places, so he is steadfast upon the Sharee`ah of Allah until he meets Him while He is pleased with him. Allah ta`ala said, “So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, [you] and those who have turned back with you [to Allah].” [ Quran  Surah Hud, 112] And, “So take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness.” [ Quran  Surah Fussilat, 6] And the Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said, “Say ‘I believe in Allah’, then be steadfast.” [Muslim] – If the fasting in Ramadan has ended, then there remains voluntary fasting, such as fasting six days in Shawwal, on Mondays and Thursdays, the three days in the middle of the month, the days of `Aashoora and `Arafat, and others. – If standing in prayer at night during Ramadan has ended, then there remains voluntary night prayer throughout the year. “They used to sleep but little of the night.” [ Quran  Surah Adh-Dhaariyaat, 17] – If the charity in Ramadan and zakat ul-fitr have ended, then there is the obligatory Zakat, and also there are many other open doors to charity, voluntary actions and jihad. – Reading of the Qur’an and contemplating it is not only for Ramadan, rather it is for all times. Righteous actions are for all times and all places, so strive – O my brother and sister – and beware of laziness. And remember that it is not allowed for us to leave the obligatory actions or delay them, such as the five daily prayers on time, in congregation etc. And do not fall into forbidden actions, such as forbidden sayings, food and drinks, or by looking at or listening to what is forbidden. Be steadfast and upright upon the Deen of Allah at all times, for you do not know when you’ll meet the Angel of Death. Beware of him taking you while you are in a state of sin. Let us make since dua   “O Allah, Who turns the hearts, keep our hearts steadfast upon Your Deen.” I ask Allah to accept from us and you our fasting, our prayers and other righteous actions, that our condition after Ramadan be a better one, that the state of our Ummah improves, that we are granted honour and that we truly turn to our Lord…Ameen

what is zakat al Fitr ?

It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Remember! Zakat al-Fitr is Wajib (strongly recommended, just short of obligatory) on every Muslim, man or woman, free or in servitude, adult or child.” (Tirmidhi)

Literal meaning of Zakat (or Zakah) is the process of purification. Fitr is from the word Fitrah and its literal meaning is (one’s) nature or natural state. Hence the meaning of Zakat al-Fitr is to purify one’s nature.

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet made the Zakat al-Fitr obligatory for the purpose of: purifying our fasting from vain talk and shameful mistakes, to make arrangements for the poor and the needy for food and clothing (for the festival of Eid). (Abu Dawud, Ibn Maja)

Every adult Muslim, with sufficient food for the family for a day, should pay Zakat al-Fitr for himself/herself and all his/her dependents. Even those who did not fast should pay it. Zakat al-Fitr should also be paid for the child born or the person died before the Fajr (dawn) on the day of Eid.

At the time of the Prophet, payment of Zakat al-Fitr was made in terms of weight of grain. It is one Sa for each person. One Sa approximately equals to 3.15 kg or 6.94 lbs. The Muslim jurists agree that Zakat al-Fitr can also be paid in cash equivalent to the cost of 3.15kg/6.94 lb. of grain including rice, wheat, lentils, corn, and dry cheese.

Prophet Muhammad (saw) has said, “Whoever paid it (Zakat al-Fitr) before Eid Prayer, it is acceptable Zakat before Al’lah. Whoever paid it after Eid Prayer, it is just a charity.“ The companion of the Prophet used to pay it a few days earlier. (Bukhari)

Zakat al-Fitr should be paid early enough so it will reach the needy and the poor before the Eid day. It will enable them to use it for food and clothes and give them the opportunity to enjoy the happiness of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Zakat al-Fitr should be paid directly to the needy and the poor. However, you can also pay it to an organization, which would distribute it in accordance with the teaching of Islam. Remember! It is still your responsibility. So, make sure before paying that the organization will distribute it according to the teaching of Islam and before Eid Prayer.
